Yellin is the quaternary antagonist. The Chief Enforcer of Florin, he is in charge of a spy network. Prince Humperdinck falsely informs him of a plot by Guilder to assassinate Buttercup. Yellin says he has had no news of this but follows out Humperdinck's orders to have the thieves' forest emptied before the wedding. The castle gates are locked on the wedding night and guarded by sixty men, but after Westley, Inigo, and Fezzik's subterfuge, they are able to frighten away the guards and get the single gate key from Yellin. Played by Malcolm Storry.
Yellin's name may possibly be a reference to Samuel Yellin, a famous master blacksmith from the early 20th century, specializing in the creation of gates for some of the most prolific figures and institutions in the United States at the time, including the gates at Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and The Cloisters at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Westley: Give us the gate key
Yellin: I have no gate key
Inigo: Fezzik, tear his arms off
Yellin: Oh, you mean *this* gate key
